How its made:

The Jaipuri block printing tradition was the inspiration for the design The artisans  are practicing their art in Rajasthan for around 500 years. The process starts with the block design, first on paper and then hand carving the wooden blocks. They dip the blocks in natural dyes and carefully stamp the fabric. Block carving is a precise art that is done entirely by hand. Each pattern is stamped individually onto the fabric. These subtle gaps and overlaps are a reminder of beauty of handmade crafts and gives block printing its iconic look. Today, Rajasthan’s block printing villages continue to echo the rhythmic ‘knocking’ sounds created when the block printer stamps the wooden block on fabric.

Summer Anna strives to contribute to sustainable living by sourcing organic and responsibly produced products.
